Our History
Started in 1964, the West Ferris Association has been home to many hockey players in North Bay, Ontario and surrounding area.
MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION
The purpose of the Association is to:
- Organize, administer, develop and promote minor hockey for the youth of and within the city limits of the City of North Bay and otherwise within District 5 of the NOHA territories;
- Set policy for all representative and house league hockey teams in Tyke, Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget categories or any other matter category that may be created by the Association from time to time;
- Instill good behaviour in all players, coaches, managers, parents and Members associated with the Association;
(iv) to teach and encourage personal integrity, respect for others, fair play and good sportsmanship; - Develop youth into good citizens of our community and to provide a wholesome outlet for youthful energy by fostering interest in their team and the game of hockey;
- To stress respect for team and game officials and authority generally;
- To operate the Association having regard to the underlying operational concepts of registration, team formation, personal development and discipline;
- To promote the sport of hockey to the full extent of facilities and financial resources; and
- To engage in activities to raise the funds necessary to meet the objectives of the Association;
On April 24th, 2019 the Membership voted in favor of an amalgamation with the North Bay Minor Hockey Association which will see over 800 kids form the renamed Association to North Bay Minor Hockey Association. The long history of West Ferris Minor Hockey Association will always be the foundation of our organization as we strive to provide an excellent experience for all our current and future players.
