Hockey for Beginners

The Timbits Initiation Program is a structured, learn-to-play hockey program designed to introduce young players to the game’s basic skills in an atmosphere of fun and fair play. It is the basis from which Canadians get their start in hockey by having fun, learning skills, and developing confidence.

This program is the first introduction to hockey fundamentals. Participants will be on the ice twice a week for approximately 40 minutes per session. On ice instruction will include skating skills, hockey fundamentals, and game situations depending on the skill level of the participants.

Begins:  Will run from Mid October until the March Break, the full schedule will be released once confirmation from the city is received

Times/Days:   Approximately 30-32 - 40 minute sessions occurring Wednesdays sometime between 5:15 and 7:15 pm and Saturday 7:30 to 9:30 am with some exceptions when the ice is not available due to tournaments.

Fees: Cost will be $250 which includes a $50 credit for equipment at Skaters North Source for Sports

Location: Pete Palangio Arena

Note: Participants require CSA approved protective hockey equipment  and must be 4 years of age by December 31st of the current hockey season. Parents or Guardians are welcome and encouraged to come on the ice, a CSA certified helmet and skates are mandatory.
